Davey is the only driver to win the Firemen Nationals from the pole position and lead all 50 laps. 
Ray won the Nationals on August 31,2003 driving for RAJO/Wilke.
 
Davey was the first driver to win with the Mopar midget engine driving Harlin Kittleson's No. 2 at
Angell Park Speedway's "Memorial 50" event on May 27, 2001.
 
Davey was the only repeat winner of the BMARA "Milwaukee Cup Classic" at
Hales Corners Speedway winning in 2001 and 2003.

Davey's first ride in a dirt sprint car was at the high banks of Eldora Speedway during the USAC
"Buckeye Nationals" event.  Davey drove the BWB No. 62 wrenched by Keith Holsapple. 
Davey made it look easy as he went out and won his heat race making a last lap pass on the infamous track. 
Ray went on to win the midget portion Championship of the Buckeye Nationals.


 
 
Davey ran most of his first years of midget racing on the pavement and set fast time at
Michigan Ideal Speedway on July 21, 2000 in Bob Bohn's No. 0 midget.
